A technology plan focuses on an institutions technology status, needs assessment, organizational goals in the use of technology for a period of time and can be revised to accommodate changes of the technological environment. While a digital strategy will focus on using the available technology to achieve an organization's goals. The focal points are teaching and learning along with assessment procedures.
The Ellerslie School would benefit more from a comprehensive digital strategy for the integration of technology since there is an existing system which will ensure continued growth and development of the school's infrastructure, the digital awareness of the students and having essential leadership guiding the process.
My educational institution has continued to encourage staff and students to fully engage in the digital tools available and this proved beneficial during the Covid-19 pandemic. As an institution we were able to transition easily, as additional training was provided to the staff in very early stages, and they were therefore able to transfer that knowledge to the students and parents to ensure comfort in the online environment for all concerned.
